NCAA March Madness Gambling - Southwest Regional Sneak Peek
The Southwest regional will include the total NCAA Championship favorite in NCAA March Madness betting, the Kansas Jayhawks.Kansas is the #1 seed in this region but there are a few squads that may be a shocking. Let's examine every game in the Southwest region and the favorites in March Madness odds.
Leading Seeds
(1) Kansas - The Kansas Jayhawks come into the competition at 32-2 and they've got plenty of talent headed by the Morris brothers. Marcus was the Big 12 player of the year averaging 17.3 points per match. Kansas should win this region.
(2) Notre Dame - The Notre Dame Fighting Irish get to play close to home in Chicago for the 1st 2 games and they've a favorable schedule yet they don’t have as much experience as KU.
(3) Purdue - The Boilermakers have a lot of knowledge however they have a hard draw as they will very likely encounter Georgetown in the 2nd round.
(4) Louisville - One of the most dangerous #4 seeds in the NCAA Tournament is in this region as Louisville plays fantastic defense and they've guards who can score in Preston Knowles and Peyton Siva.
1st Round Competitions
(1) Kansas vs Boston University (16) - This ought to be an easy win for Kansas but Boston has won 11 consecutive contests and they've a very great competitor in John Holland.
(8) UNLV against (9) Illinois - The Rebels appear to be the better team as Illinois comes in having lost 10 of their previous 16 matches. The victor of this match gets Kansas and a most likely second round exit.
(5) Vanderbilt against (12) Richmond - The Commodores have John Jenkins and that is about it. Richmond might just be the greater team in this game.
(4) Louisville versus (13) Morehead State - The Cardinals have Preston Knowles whilst Morehead State has Kenneth Faried.
(6) Georgetown against (11) USC or VCU - The Hoyas get Chris Wright back and that makes them a entirely different team versus. March Madness odds.
(3) Purdue vs (14) St. Peter’s - The Boilermakers look to be too excellent with JaJuan Johnson and E’Twaun Moore.
(7) Texas A&M against (10) Florida State - The essential in this match is if Chris Singleton competes for FSU. If he's in they're a good bet in March Madness gambling but it he is out they will most likely lose.
(2) Notre Dame versus (15) Akron - The Fighting Irish should be too strong for the Zips in NCAA March Madness betting.
FSU remains confident even after close loss against UNC
Seminoles play N.C. State on Sunday TALLAHASSEE — Florida State lost in the final seconds here on Wednesday night against North Carolina but in doing so the Seminoles didn't lose their confidence. In fact, they might have gained some during a 72-70 defeat against the Tar Heels, who won after Harrison Barnes made a long 3 with three seconds to play.

Florida State 2010 Season Predictions
While it's clear that the Florida State Seminoles have not recently lived up to the hype of their past, fans should expect a lot more from upcoming seasons. Jimbo Fischer, whose coaching style is unknown and whose energy should push the Seminoles to rebound from the loss of legend Bobby Bowden, hopes to lead the team to a winning season that will place them within the top-25 teams. Fischer, however, is not the only person who will bring attention to this underdog team; with a fantastic incoming class of players, a newly invigorated defensive line, and a strong offense led by Heisman candidate, Christian Ponder, other teams would do well not to underestimate the Seminoles as they ride into the 2010 season.
Offense: Christian Ponder may be stealing the spotlight on the FSU offense, but even after he was injured, the other players were quite formidable. With 5477 total offensive yards, they were efficient and balanced, with a huge passing game and many dangerous out-routes. Ponder himself is impressive, with a 70% pass completion rate and only 15 sacks before his injury. His completion rate even jumps up to 80% against rival teams. However, he has excellent, quick receivers like James Forston and Bert Reed, who will be very important in the coming season. Jermaine Thomas and Chris Thompson, who both had over 5 YPC in 2009, will make a very strong, experienced running back tandem to balance the offense. Tight end Beau Reliford will be necessary when the Seminoles reach red-zone situations. In addition, their offense proves to be extremely difficult to cover, since majority of their touchdowns during the 2009 season came from rushing attacks. Fullback Lonnie Pryor, a redzone favorite, will also be especially dangerous this season.
Defense: Just admit it—last year's defense was mediocre AT BEST. They lacked even a single player with over 100 tackles and only let in 205 rushing and 230 passing yards per game. But the talent is there! In 2009, the defense picked up 13 of the 20 fumbles from the other teams. Mark Stoops's coaching experience should be able to lead this disappointing defensive line to becoming extraordinary. Fans should see huge improvements from veterans Nigel Bradham and Kendall Smith. Markus White, who only had 2 sacks but 10.5 tackles for a loss, will be lethal. Cornerbacks Jenije and Greg Reid will be deadly as well. Threy are complete lock-dow cornerbacks, and will help the Seminoles rule the turnover battle.
Overall, this team is not one to be misjudged. They are improving, yes, but the experience and talent that are present will make them a force to be reckoned with in 2010.
Prediction: 1st in ACC Atlantic, playing Virginia Tech in ACC Championship. +7500 to win BCS Championship
